How does the pricing work? How is my tariff calculated?
The charges are calculated according to room rates and the number of occupants. For eg: for a given room the per person rate for a single/two persons occupying would be higher than the rate per person for 3 or 4 persons occupying the same room.
Do you provide a discount?
Discounts are already baked into the pricing mechanism in our booking engine: 1. Weekday rates (Monday, Tuesday. Wednesday, and Thursday nights) are 10% lesser than weekend rates (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights) 2. Per-person rates decrease with every additional person occupying a room. If you are looking for our lowest rates, weekdays work best. Also more people, the lesser it costs per person.
What is included in the total amount paid?
The total amount paid includes stay with amenities provided and all meals.
What mode of transactions do you have to pay the pending amount?
You can pay through your credit card (swipe at the homestay during checkout) or UPI transfer to ajjanamane@ybl
When do we pay the pending amount?
You can pay your net due amount at the time of checkout at AjjanaMane
Would there be any reduction in the total tariff if we don't want to have AjjanaMane food?
If you are coming all the way to AjjanaMane and not having our food, you should reconsider visiting AjjanaMane. Food at AjjanaMane is very well reviewed. However, no, your tariff will not change even if you want to ignore our food during your stay.
Would the amount be reduced if we were to check out early?
If, for any unforeseen reason, you need to check out early (by a day or a sizeable portion of a day), then we will charge you only for the time you have stayed at AjjanaMane. We encourage you to let us know in advance if you know that your trip may be shorter than planned so we can open up such days for others to book.
Are there any changes from my booking done on weekends to weekdays?
Weekday rates are lesser than weekend rates.
Are there any additional charges to bring my pet along?
None .
What are the additional charges for laundry?
Rs. 250 per load of laundry. (wash / dry)
Does the booking involve a tour near by the vicinity/pick-up and drop to the station?
No, there are additional charges for such services, but assistance could be provided.
How do I cancel my booking?
You can use the mobile number used for the booking to access your My Bookings section. Once logged in, you can view your booking and choose to cancel the same.
How do I change my current booking?
There is no option to re-schedule a current booking. You will need to cancel the current booking and create a new booking.
Could the menu be vegan?
Yes, we could avoid Animal-dependent or derived products upon request during the preparation of your meals, but it should be mentioned during the booking. You can also just call us and let us know of any preference before you arrive.
Could the menu be Jain?
We avoid the use of onion and garlic in all our recipes. However, we can further customize to suit your needs.
Would we be able to pack food based on our travel plans?
Yes, the staff would be able to pack food in case you were to miss a meal due to local sight-seeing/travel plans.
Could we access the kitchen if we want to cook our own food?
You would have access of the kitchen for basic food preparation (tea/coffee/baby food) as we have a dedicated chef and kitchen staff to make your stay relaxing.
Would we be allowed to get non-vegetarian food/alcohol from outside?
No. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food (meat) is not allowed onto the premises of the homestay If found with alcohol despite knowing the restrictions, you will be kindly asked to leave the property.
Can we cook non-vegetarian food in the kitchen?
No, non-vegetarian food (meat) would not be allowed on the premises of the homestay.
Is there a way we can access Havyaka recipes?
Yes. You can visit ajjanaMane channel on youtube to see some of our most popular recipes. Some recipes are also accessible on our website.
How Do I get to AjjanaMane? What kind of transport can I use?
Car / Train / Bus (from Bangalore). Please visit the homepage and navigate to these sections to get details on each mode of transport to reach AjjanaMane from Bangalore.
How long does it take to reach AjjanaMane?
This depends on the mode of transport you are using and the time of the day you are traveling. The indicative durations are below: Car: Departing from Bangalore early in the morning – before 6 am – 7 hours including breaks Depart at any other time of the day – 8 hours including breaks Bus: Generally 8 hours Train: Departs Bangalore at 10:30 pm – Arrives in Thalaguppa at 7:30 am Departs Thalaguppa at 8 pm – Arrives in Bangalore at 5 am.”
How safe is AjjanaMane?
Extremely safe. In the last 6-7 years that I have been spending time in Talavata, I have not even bothered locking my car, closing its windows, closing the doors of Ajjanamane, etc. You won’t have to bother about a thing. However, our advice for people is that they take care of their belongings with basic care.
Would there a pickup & drop facility from the Thalaguppa train Station?
Transfers to and from the Talaguppa (TLGP) Railway station can be self-arranged. You are welcome to get in touch with Pervez or Siri for transfers. Please make sure you agree on a price for the transfers prior to your arrival. Please note that the rates for taxis/autos may be higher than the rates in Bengaluru.
Are there any medical facilities?
The nearest hospital that can treat emergencies is in Sagar at 20 km (less than 30 mins). There are regular clinics (1) in Thalaguppa 5 km (less than 10 mins). If you are suffering from stress-induced illnesses, you might find to your surprise that you don’t remember them here.
Would I be able to access Wi-Fi at the homestay?
We have a high-speed network connection at AjjanaMane. Guests can connect to the network from the courtyard of AjjanaMane.
Will my phone have network at the homestay?
The network works partially and is available at specific locations in the homestay. It is not reliable. Only Airtel and Jio networks work at AjjanaMane.
What are the nearby places I could visit during my stay?

What is the maximum capacity of the entire house?
The maximum capacity of the house is 14. We could provide extra beds in case of a large group so please discuss with us beforehand and help us make your stay comfortable.
Will my driver have any facilities during our stay?
We can provide a basic mattress and essentials for a driver to stay in the courtyard of the homestay. We have a common restroom with bathing facilities that can be used by your driver. We charge an additional Rs. 400 per day for the driver for their meals.
What activities or experiences are available at the homestay?

Is the monsoon a good time to visit AjjanaMane?
Any season is great to visit this place amongst nature. Monsoon is obviously the best as it rains cats and dogs and everything in between for about 3 months starting mid-June. The rains are a sight to behold. I learned that rain is natural and can be enjoyed without catching colds or fevers in this place.
Are there any leeches at AjjanaMane?
During the monsoon, you will encounter leeches. There are simple pain-free methods to remove them if they latch onto you. There are preventive measures to avoid them latching on too.
Are there snakes?
There are some snakes in the vicinity. Mostly friendly. Mostly snakes from the lake next door. We haven’t seen many of them recently, but this is their home as much as it is ours.
Do you have backup power?
Yes. The entire home has backup power through a UPS. Specific lights in each area, including rooms have switches that are connected to UPS ensuring that you have sufficient lighting in the case of power failures.
Do you have AC and TV in AjjanaMane?
The weather is good around the year. The Courtyard design makes summers quite manageable, indeed pleasantly manageable. We do not have any TV at Ajjanamane.
Is AjjanaMane bug-free?
As mentioned earlier, this is the home of all kinds of beautiful little forms of life, including bugs. We have found that most of them are extremely friendly and willing to have a conversation. We do have mosquito nets and employ simple techniques to ward off mosquitos at night time.
Do you have 24 hours of running hot water?
Yes. With a notice of 30 mins, we can help you to switch on a geyser, or use our solar or Gujarat boiler to provide hot water for your bathing and cleaning needs.
What are the activities for children at AjjanaMane?
We have several modern board games: Pictionary, Scrabble, Chess, Carrom, and several traditional board games: Pagade, Aluguli Mane, Chowka Bara, etc. We have a full-fledged badminton hardcourt, a cricket set for sports lovers. The Courtyard, when filled with water, is a great play area for kids and adults. We will be happy to fill up the central well of the courtyard with water for you to play and enjoy.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. This is a strictly vegetarian, no-alcohol, no-smoking homestay.
2. We are a vegan friendly homestay. You are welcome to request vegan food when you arrive.
3. Tariff includes Breakfast, Lunch, High-Tea and Dinner.
4. Tariff does not include pick-up and drop from railway station or bus stand, and any other sight-seeing tours that you may avail.
5. Children under 6 go free .
6. Children under 12 charged at ₹800 per day.
7. Bathroom / Toilets available for domestic help / drivers that accompany you. We will charge ₹400 per day for your driver / domestic help as charges for food.
